I am bit leery of this one, as I suspect the best case is that I end up installing an equally crappy part and waiting for it to fail. Ebay a replacement part direct from a Chinese manufacturer. This would make changing speeds tedious, but it will work. Swap out the Reeves drive pulleys, or scraps thereof, for a set of step pulleys. So far, I have identified the following alternatives: 1. Just wondering if anyone else has run across this problem and hammered out a solution.
What I didn’t expect was that the smoking ruin of what was once Delta would no longer supply replacement parts for it. The cast aluminum(?) is just not a satisfactory material for a pulley wheel, at least not with the quality standards in China circa 2000. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem that they may have solved with a switch from Lowes or somewhere else. I was expecting the switch today but when I called they said it is backorderd until January 8, 2007!! Considering it's the holidays and that I'll be pretty busy with family I guess I can wait, but I'd rather not. Since I purchased the drillpress about 30 months ago the warranty is no longer valid. Complete silence! I suspect it is the switch and have ordered one for about $21.00 from the Dewalt Tool Co on Capital Blvd in Raleigh. The DP350 has a built in light that is working fine but when I push the ON button to start the drillpress.nothing. My DC works plugged into the same outlet.
I used my drill press one day with no incident then the next day I pushed the button and.nothing! :cry: I checked the circuit and it is fine.
